How Jesus is the Light of the World
I would like to discuss how Jesus is the light of the world both as a scientific and a spiritual concept. First, let’s look at the wonders of light.
From experiencing our first sunrise, we continue to be awed by the beauty, life-creating and life-sustaining, power of light. Our body’s daily rhythms are intimately connected to light. Light synchronizes our physical and emotional centers. We are only able to see the world because of light.
Many biblical passages refer to Jesus as the light of the world.
Jesus — the Light of the World Scientifically

Genesis 1:3-4 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
The first thing God made was light. God did not create the sun until the fourth day. However, he needed light to create our solar system and the world we live in.
Light is a fascinating form of energy. Science tells us that light is made up of tiny particles called photons. Those particles are the building blocks of everything in the universe.
Light radiates in waves, and science has proved that everything, even rocks and plant life, radiates waves in the same frequency as light.
Einstein said everything is made of light. Light particles tightly joined create solid matter, and light loosely joined creates fluids.
Jesus, the Light and Life of all things

John 1:4 In him (Jesus Christ) was life; and the life was the light of men.
9 That (Jesus)was the true Light, which lights every man that cometh into the world.
A subtle lamination surrounds every living thing like a bubble of energy. This energy bubble is called an aura. This aura extends outward from our physical form and reflects our emotional state. The aura takes the shape of our physical body.
Researchers have studied the concept of an aura scientifically for over a century. We know that when a body dies the aura disappears.

Jesus Enlightens Our Mind
John 8:12, Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life.
This metaphor signifies spiritual Illumination, about truth, guidance, and salvation.
- Truth: The light stands for the truth of Jesus’s teachings.
- Guidance: Jesus as the light of the world conveys his role in providing spiritual clarity and hope.
- Salvation: His light symbolizes our movement from darkness (sin) to light and the promise of eternal life to believers.

Psalm 27:1 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Daniel 2:22 He reveals the deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
