For decades scientists have struggled with questions about dinosaur fossils. They have linked the age of dinosaur fossils to the age of the earth. They believe the earth was created from nothing. (Ex-nihilo)

What if there was a new scientific explanation for dinosaur fossils? The new scientific insights might answer many of the questions scientists have debated for decades.

What Happened to the Dinosaurs

While many animals have gone extinct, there is a continuing dilemma. When did dinosaurs roam the Earth, and what caused them to become extinct?

For many years I considered the simplest explanation for the disappearance of dinosaurs. I thought Noah did not put them on the ark. Therefore, they died in the flood. Then I read Genesis 7:15. It states, “Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah.” They entered the ark. From this verse, it became apparent. If dinosaurs lived on Earth at the time of Noah, they would have entered the ark.

This meant I needed another answer for dinosaur fossils. I enjoy science. I wondered if I could discover the explanation through science.

A Proven Law of Science

Modern scientists universally accept the Law of Conservation of Energy and Mass. This idea was first presented in 1789 as a theory. It has since been proven so thoroughly it is now considered a Law. (Equivalent to the Law of Gravity).

This Law states: that there is no new matter in the universe. Therefore, neither mass nor energy can be created or destroyed. Because matter can’t be created or destroyed, it is continually recycled through the universe.

If this newly accepted law is correct then we must conclude the earth was created from existing materials. This opens up many new possibilities.

New Law Explained

To understand the impact of this law, I will try to explain it. Here are two examples of how the law works.

Water can be found in ice or steam. In whatever condition, it is still one part oxygen and two parts hydrogen. (H2O) Regardless of its physical state, the elements remain the same. The oxygen and hydrogen molecules can be separated but never destroyed.

Similarly, a carbon atom found in coal can be burned. It then becomes carbon dioxide in the air. Later a tree absorbs the carbon, and it becomes part of the tree. The carbon atom was neither created nor destroyed. It was simply recycled into different forms.

Modern scientists have concluded the Earth was created from existing materials. Therefore, the idea the world was made from nothing has been relegated to a myth.

The Bible Agrees

When translating the Bible, the King James committee chose to translate the Hebrew word “Barua” as ‘created.’ However, The word could also be translated as ‘Organized.’ Therefore, the first verse of Genesis could read, ” In the beginning, God organized the heavens and the earth.”

“And God said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters. Let it divide the waters from the waters. And God said let the waters under the heavens be gathered together in one place. Let the dry land appear.” (Genesis:6-9)

We read God gathered the waters and divided the firmament from the firmament. We don’t know precisely what the ‘waters’ contained, but the waters were obviously tangible and preexisting.

The earth was not magically created from nothing (ex-nihilo). Rather, existing materials were brought together to create the earth and everything in our solar system.

What About Dinosaur Fossils?

Because of this new understanding, many scientists believe elements from a supernova were organized to form the Earth. Based on this theory, carbon dating could be accurate. The age of dinosaur fossils might be billions of years old. However, that does not mean the Earth was created billions of years ago.

Deep space contains millions of space rocks and gas-filled nebula. Some of the space rocks used to create our earth could date back billions of years. These ancient rocks may also contain fossils of dinosaurs that lived on other worlds.

Dinosaur fossils are only found in some places. They are found in pockets of rock layers in certain parts of the earth and not in other parts.

What if dinosaur fossils were embedded in the debris from other planets? That would mean dinosaurs might never have lived on our Earth.

Conclusion About Dinosaur Fossils.

I am not a scientist and certainly not an expert. If the Law of Conservation Energy and Mass is correct, we have no reason to believe dinosaur fossils only came from our earth. We should consider other possibilities. There might be other sources. These fossils may have other origins. It suggests that these fossils could have other origins.

Looking at this question with this new scientific insight could answer many adjacent questions that scientists still struggle with.

The new theories about the creation and the age of the earth do not destroy the belief. People still believe that God organized the earth according to the account in Genesis.

In science and religion, we rely on faith to guide how we interpret our world. I could be wrong. However, my logic seems solid.
